This Steyr isn`t mine. A guy i know asked me to take care of it. I have always liked this platform. This used to be a .22 but is has been customized to .177. I have been shooting it in my backyard and it`s a great gun. The trigger is one of the best i have ever encountered.
The LG110 has shown the world that its concept is great by breaking every world record with the LG110 Match.
Kalibrgun Cricket .22
Sietse 'Big Bore Broossie' is the owner of this Cricket. I asked him for this gun, there aren`t too many of these around so i wanted the gun on my site. I shot the Cricket in my backyard this afternoon. Some 40 meter trying to hit 3/4" targets. No problem. One hit after the other.
The balance of this gun is nearly perfect, there aren`t too many rifles i got so easily used to. The trigger is good, 14 rounds in a magazine, shrouded and silent, hard hitting and accurate.
Part of performing awesome is the Leupold scope
Artemis P18 .22
Today i was the owner of an Artemis P18 in .22. Since my eyes fell on this little gun i liked it. My hesitations concerned the accuracy of the P18. I had a Artemis in .25 before and the accuracy of that gun was a disgrace.
The P18 is regulated, ambidextrous (the bolt can easily be placed on the other side of the gun), it has a decent scoperail, a powerwheel, 300 cc of compressed air aboard. The balance is fine, the gun weighs 3.5 kilo, the length of the barrel is 23", its overall length is 34".
The overall feel of the gun is good. I like the way it is machined.

Above. The gauge on top gives the regulator is set on, The lower gauge gives the pressure in the bottle.
The P18 is a silent gun. I shot it in my bacykard. The silencer has 3 baffles and one aluminium bush.

There were two problems with this little gun. The first problem is its accuracy, the second problem is plcing a pellet in the barrel. The opening is way to small for guys like. us. There are two sharp edges around the loading port, it`s just too small.
RTI The Priest .22
On the Dutch airgunboard the Priest was reviewed. It came out the review as a very bad gun, low quality, not worth a dime. I hesitated to buy me a Priest even tho` i liked the concept of the gun. Jan told me he had a Priest doin` nothing. He didn`t like it one bit. 'Watcha want for it?" I shot with it and i was impressed with the accuracy of this little gun.
I`m not too fond of regulated airguns but maybe this gun can take my reservations away. I`m on the 50 meter track and i`m shooting cloverleaves with the Priest. It is as accurate as fuck. The way my bipod is mounted makes the gun pretty unstable. A good bipod mounted more to the front of the gun will imprrove accuracy. The CZ barrel is doing what it is expected to do.
There`s a 12 shot mag. Filling the mag is kinda terrible but i`ve been told the later mags are easier to fill. The bolt of the Priest works okay too. It is easy to handle.
The stock is kinda short, but there`s an extension available. Tactical (or industrial) airguns like the Priest, Airforce Talon and Artemis M18 have a rather low scope rail. I use scope risers and the standard Kahles mounts.
The trigger of The Piest is truly amazing. In every bulpup that i shot the tigger had a bit of play. The Priest`s trigger doesn`t have any. The trigger of the MK2 Priest seems to be even better. This tigger is crisp and clean and easy to adjust. To make sure life`s not perfect the setting of the trigger wanders off its setting. Loctite doesn`t seem like a great idea, dunno what i`m gonna do about it.
Today i got the ACC-device (Anti Cold Cheek-device). Sold by the Dutch RTI Importer Joost van Gerven (a great guy, may his house be free from tigers). Luchtbuks.com
The Priest is shooting 12 shot cloverleaves at 50 meters. The original V0 was some 280 m/s, 40 Joule os 30FPE. I put the Hi Power Block in the hammer and the avarage V0 went up to 300m/s. Don`t know the effect to the cloverleaves, we`ll see.
Another upgrade. I mounted the Extended Adjustable Hammerspring Butpad. It`s not compatible with the adjustable buthook from JB3D -custom 3d printing & design- from Califonia. The but hook suits the Priest very fine.
The last upgrade is the prolonged Weaver rail wich gives some variation in positioning the bipod. The rail comes from China and was customized by Raoul J from Old Earth (or just Âldegea).
The last update is the Power Plenum.
Shanghai QB78
I got my first QB78 as a present from my wife, it must have been 2006 or so. On the Dutch airrgunboard people were very clear about this Crosman replica. Rubbish and crap. Not worth a single penny, let alone 90 euro. The fact that every airgun connaiseurr despised the QB made me want one. I enjoyed the little gun. The first one was a .177. The stock got wrapped in some Frysian flag sticker. Pretty cute.
I discovered this picture of a QB with a magazine. I forgot i ever had that one. In 2015 is was much more interrested in Big Bore airguns, maybe that`s the reason i forgot this one. This was an automatically indexing magazine.
A QB78 is a very simple airgun. The one pictured here is a De Luxe version.
A standard QB weighs 2,6 kilo, measures 1015 mm and has a 453 mm barrel, in .177 de muzzle velocity is some 600 ft orr 183 m/s, in .22 it`s mv is 420 ft or 128 m/s. The gun is powered by two co2 cartridges and those give the gun some 60 to 80 max power shots.

In 2018 i wanted one for my girlfriends son. He was about 8 years old and had an urge for shooting. Jose from Spain gave me this gun.
As you can see this gun has an oversized bolt. I made for my GF`s son. It woks like it oughta. The gun is being used in the backyard. It`s a great plinker fo 25 meters. Two weeks ago somebody asked me to repair a QB78 pcp and i fell in love with that simple gun.
Today i got my own QB PCP. Again frrom Jose from Spain (muchas gracias compadre!)
Take a look.

It`s some 175 mm longer than an original QB and this one is a .22
I took it out for a few shots this afternoon. It`s fun!

The groups i shot with the QB PCP are great. Look at `m, 50 metres, 2500 PSI (175 bar) with JSB 15,89 grain pellets.
Last week the stock took a new layer of paint. Done by the Rembrand of Noarderloft; Wieger (We-gur) from it Haachje.

I bought a magazin for the QB. I like shooting guns with a magazin. This magazin comes from AFG Defense in Slavakia.
https://www.afg-defense.eu/magazine-norinco-qb78-cal.-55-mm-9-rounds/
Works great but different than other mags. This mag holds 9 pellets and is manually indexed. Indexed the mag drops a pellet in front of the bolt in the breech.
Works flawlessly.

Theoben Countryman .22
I bought this Theoben as a Taunus but it isn`t. I found this one is a Countryman.
I have had quite a lot of airguns but i never had a Theoben. Untill now. I bought this one from a bloke from the Dutch Airgunboard Luchtbuks.net. I knew the schrader valve had to be replaced. I knew shit about schrader valves. I bought two new schrade valves, one with BA1 thread and the othe one had te replacement thread. When i put the new valve in it became clear the thread for the pump was completely gone.
Buggers.

The original pump is a treat to have but it has no use with my Theoben anymore. And i tell you why.
A guy i know for quite some time, Arien is his name, offered to make the Theoben function again. After a short time i told Arien i didn`t give a hoot about how the Theoben got to function again, i just want te get the gun to shoot again i don`t mind if you have to weld a 3 feet pipe to the action or whatever.
Arien made a new, non leaking valve for the Theoben.

Top left, on top the little tool to remove the valve from the action and the tool to remove the air from the gasram. Top right the ball beaings that form the new valve. Below left the two schrader valves i bought, below right the Foster wich can be screwed in the ear of the action to fill the gun.
The stock is made from Hyedua wood. That`s kinda special because that kinda wood isn`t to be harvested anymore. Even tho the stock once broke the beauty of the wood is clear.
When i got to shoot the Theeoben forr the first time i immediately knew why the stock broke. The barrel was pointing upwards some 1/6". The barrel slipped out of some fuckers hands during the cocking cycle. At home i rremoved the barrrel and bent it back to its original position.
The pic on the left shows how much the barel pointed upwards. The picture on the left is after i repositioned the barrel. Ans after that i managed to shoot some groups at 25 meters with this hold sensitive airgun.
The shot cycle of a gasram airgun surprises me every time i shoot one. I have a Weihrauch HW90, a BSA Lightning with an aftermarket gasram and a Cometa Fusion Star, all of them give me the same feeling. I like gasram airguns!
The once broken stock has been worked on by Frako, the cairgun collector we all know. The result of his work is truly beautifull, impressive, great. Let`s take a look.
I told ya all before i like te shot cycle of a gasram airgun. The more i shoot the Countryman the more i like it.
This bloke from the range bought a Theoben too. He shot mine and he fell in love.
Here`s his Fenman in .22

Theoben Fenman .22
The Fenman is a hellufalot shorter. Both are high pressure rifles. The shot cycle of the Fenman is as great as the one from the Countryman. Difference between the two guns are the scope mounts.
Mine -left- has the mounts wich are screwed directly on the action, Bob`s gun has 11 mm scoperails.
Theoben Rapid MKI .25
Some 13 or so years ago a bunch of friends were shooting in Cees`s backyard every now and then. One of these guys had a Theoben he was shooting with. For some reason that gun impressed me. Some things stick in your mind like the Rolling Stones once sang. Theobens were expensive over here in the Low Lands and Theobens were scarse. After i bought my Countryman i knew i had to have a Theoben PCP. And one came along. Exactly the one i wanted. A 12 shot MKI.
The Theoben came without mounts. That`s a bugger because i wa told that those mounts were like chicken teeth. So i put the 30mm Countryman on the Rapid. I`ve been searching all over the place and i found a pair of Sport Match mounts for Theoben at Ant Supplies in Swansea.
Some previous owner carved some fish scales in the pistol grip. He did an okay job.
Hatsan Barrage .22 Semi Auto
After i sold my semi auto FX Revolution it took a few years for the Hatsan Invader to appear. The semi auto virus has never really left me so i decided that i wanted an Invader. For some strange reason the Invader is very hard to get over here in the Netherlands, 'sold out' or 'temporarily out of stock' but i never got to see anybody with an Invader, not on the shooting range or writing about the gun on the Dutch airgun forum. I am all kinds of everything but i`m not a patient person. The boundries of patience were stretched to a level i`d never expect to reach so i started looking abroad for an Invader. I ended up in Spain, friend José offered to get me one. No way man, no Invader over there too! I ended up with the Hatsan Barrage, a huge semi auto pcp.
The Barrage is a hefty piece o` gun, it weighs 4,6 kilo, the barrel measures 500mm and the gun can be filled up to 250 bar, there are three 12 shot mags coming along with it, the barrel is shrouded but the shroud doesn`t seem to reduce noise. The average output is 29,1 FPE.
The semi auto action keeps working as long as there is more than 100 bar in the 500 cc non removable bottle.
And oh boy does this gun spit pellets!

Upper left pic. The Hatsan magazines, hold 12 pellets and Barage allowes you to empty the magazine in 5 seconds or so... Uppe right pic. The metal trigger with the safety in front of it. The trigger is a bit harsh. You have to learn to appriciate it. Bottom left pic. The connection between bottle and gun. Bottom right pic. This gauge gives an indication, it `s too small to be accurate.
Top left. The Barrage comes with open sights. I cabn`t take these sights serious. Top ight. The rear part of the open sight. All synthetic, i don`t even know if it works.
Bottom left. The shroud doesn`t do a whole lotta silencing. Probably it is part of the blowback system. Top right. The rear sight again.
Bottom left. The shroud doesn`t do a whole lotta silencing. Probably it is part of the blowback system. Top right. The rear sight again.
The Barrage is a very consistent gun. I took 4 magazines, put 250 bar in the bottle on the front, 48 shots later i was surprised. The highest velocity was 282 m/s with JSB 15.89 grain pellets, the lowest velocity was 273 m/s. I could`ve done one more magazine on the same filling.
This afternoon i did some 20 magazines. I like to shoot shotshells at 50 meters. With my QB78 pcp i never miss one. Doing this with the Barrage you seen realize you`re in a challenge.I hit 4 shotshells with one magazine.
This gun is different, i think it`s a big gun, it handles well, but it takes me some time to get used to, it`s fun but......

Artemis CP1 .177
A few weeks ago i tried to buy a pistol from the time i when i was young. A Gamo Falcon. It turned out i was being ripped off by some slut named Lies Hebel Feunekes, this tart names heself Thirza van der Sloot too. That hasn`t got anything to do with the Artemis but i want to have mentioned.
The Artemis came cheap and there`s a reason for that. The pistol lokks like it has been eaten and shat out again. I don`t mind, it shoots great. I don`t like pistols but still i bought one. Dunno what`s happening to me.
First thing i did when the pistol got here is make another barrel. I planned to make a pcp of this one, that`s gonna be a serious little job. We`ll see if that is going to happen. Fist thing to do was make this pistol uglier than iit allready is. Take a look.

There was a .177 HW90 barel hanging around in my shed, doing nothing. So i gave that obsolete barrel some time in my lathe.
On your right the original barrel with its o ring, it`s a simple job to make the HW90 barel fit.
With the original short barrel the gun gives a v0 of 145 m/s 476 fps, with the longer HW90 barrel it gets some exta power, 171 m/s or 561 fps.
This simple pistol hasn`t had a good life. Look at the pics.
When the first co2 cartridge got empty i tried to remove it. Nope, it was stuck in the tube. Great! A reason to take this little gun apart!
The Artemis is badly damaged, the paint is off every part of the gun, it`s dented, it`s been opened with some pliers, in the stock are holes. I have no clue of what a former owner of this weapon wanted to do with it.
I took the gun apart yesterday. I blueed the barrel and the maintube in a try to give the little gun an appearance i can live with. So i took the spray paint off sanding it in the lathe.
I have a small bottle of blueing liquid so i could start immediately.
I can`t blue the aluminium parts, they are anodized, can`t do that at home. So i spray-painted those parts.
Did some cleaning, made a new pin for the trigger and cut the front end off in the lathe, put the heater on to warm the pats i was going to paint. It just dries faster.
The trigger broke when the pistol fell on the ground. These triggers are pretty hard to get. I luckily mailed Krale, one of the largest gunsellers in the Netherlands.
https://www.krale.shop/nl/
They had a CP1 for spare parts. I got a hold of a breech with bolt, transferport, single shot tray, probe, the trigger, the rear sight. Vey pleased with that. It makes the CP1 a lot prettier. Take a look.

With few things left to improve this project is coming to an end. I put some filler in the scars in the grips, i cut the checkering in with a knife and spray painted it.
Looks a lot bettah.
Looks a lot bettah.
The brownish colour looked good on the grips but due to covid i couldn`t go to a shop to find the right brown colour, black is always a good alternative.
With the end in sight there was one thing still missing on the CP1. A silencer, or a look-a-like silencer. The CP1 is front heavy enough! And it`s a very silent gun anyway.
Two chunks of Delrin, a obsolete piece of tube, the lathe and some time gave me this look-a-like silencer. Looking good but too frivolous for the CP1. I had to make it black.
Finished!
Will i ever shoot it?
Yes! Two times allready!

Gamo Falcon .177
I had a Gamo Falcon for a few years somewhere in the early 1990`s. I sold it to some collegue of mine. He kicked the bucket three years ago or so I do not like pistols too much but since some time i had the urge to buy a Gamo Falcon again. Tho it`s a bit awkward i really like it. I found one on a second hand site over here but the fat pig who sold it to me got my money and never sent te Falcon to me. This obese hunchback piece of shit named Lies Hebel Feunekens uses the name Thirza van der Sloot too. I hope this deranged piece of crap used my money to buy food for her retarded kids.
There was a very small airgunclub in the small city where i lived. Somewhere in the early ninetys i bought a Gamo Falcon for 75 guilders (32 euro), now some 30 later i bought this one for €110..... But i like this little underlever pistol with its strange lever to load the pellet. It`s doing some 120 m/s/394 fps. When i did the first shots i became aware that i remembered the shot cycle of this pistol. Pretty harsh recoil, muzzle flip but i still like it.
Air Venturi Avenger .22
the budget gun that isn`t a budget gun
Ove a year ago i heard about a budget. It appeared to be the Air Venturi Avenger. The gun wasn`t available over here so i tried to get one over here. I contacted Vincent from airgunexporter and it became clear that the Avenger would cost me some 600 euro`s. That`s not what i call budget. Now the gun is available over here in he country that lies below sealevel. Some 400 euro for the version with the synthetic stock. I bought it at Staal Outdoor in Drachten.
Pictured here at the Noarderloft shooting range in Fryslân. When i bought the first two guns that were handed to me leaked. The third didn`t. This is the .22 version. My ideal calibre for plinking and serious shooting. Shooting along it became clear to me that the stock mises some stiffnes, it`s not a ridgid stock so to say.The stock seems to pivot somewhat right at the point where the bipod is mounted. It effects the accuracy of the gun.
So i traded my synthetic stock in and bought me a wooden one. 184 euro for the ugliest wooden stock i`ve ever seen. The effect of the wooden stock is huge. It shoots much better, its accuracy improved like a bunch. The wooden stock gives the ridgidness the synthetic stock is missing. I set the regulator at some 2000 psi (hard to see on the little manometer) and started shooting. Kinda amazed i was. The trigger is fairly ok, muzzle velocity is some 900 fps with 18.13 grain JSB.
I wouldn`t be me if i didn`t do anything to make the stock a sight for sore eyes. Olive Drab did the trick. The gun looks better and mature. But is this gun a budget gun or what?
No. It isn`t.
It`s manufactured in a cost effective way. There`s a die cast breech with a synthetic cover over it, there`s the cheap ass synthetic stock. When you buy the synthetic version you get value for you money. When you buy the nversion with the wooden stock is much more expensive. For that money you`d buy a BSA.

AEA Challenger Pro .22
Some weeks ago i thought to buy me a FX Maverick in .22. Si did and soon regretted it. I sold it and bought an AEA Challenger Pro in .22. I read the AEA site and AEA made clear the produced airguns that gave every shooter a new experience, a gun anybody would want. Great, innovative, better than anything and for a fair price. I got overwhelmed by those words. I bought and couldn`t wait tille the gun was delivered.
I pretty soon found out AEA was exaggerating. Over here in the Netherlands we`re shooting regulated. The airtank with a Aqua Environment regulator connected to the gun, there`s no need to refill the gun periodically. The filling probe is located where we don`t want it to be located. The probe should positioned on the left or right side of the gun (like the RTI) Priest. I realie that there`s no need for an AE Regulator since the gun can handle 310 bar. But i do not want that pressure in it.
To get the in a stable position a bipod should be placed near the front of the gun. That takes a long picatinny rail. The Challenger Pro is fitted with a very short picatinnyrail. The width of the rail isn`t good, lots of bipods do not fit the rail, Becase of the weird position of the filling probe there`s no possibility to fit a long rail. Sabre sells 52 mm barrel clamps for about 95 euro`s. AEA should`ve done better.
The trigger os this almost 1000 euro gun is not adjustable. When AEA says they`re innovative and that their guns give a new experience to every gun. Every cheap ass gun has an adjustable trigger. The Challenger Pro doesn`t. That`s almost funny. It`s a fairly reasonable trigger but it`s not good enoigh. In my opinion you can not tate that you are producing good guns and not providing an adjustable trigger.
The foldable stock is well made, it`s a great piece of work. But again it doen`t funcyion the way it shold. It locks very poorly. When i cock the gun the stock jumps out of it`s lock. The only thing you can do is modify the release lever. This folding stock sucks. It`s no good. It pises me off. This could`ve been a good gun.
There`s no possibility to adjust the hammerspring without taking the gun apart and when youu want to work on the regulator you have to take the gun apart too. AEA is proud of their degassing device on the gun. I think it`s pretty rudimentairly to have to loosen the gauge on the side of the gun to degass the gun. Loosening the gauge brings a lot of pressure to the 1/8 bsp thread and there`s a change the gauge becoming airborne and causin serious injuries. My Air Venturi Avenger, yes that budget China made airgun is more safe with it`s degassing device. The AEA way is crappy and laboriuos.
Positive things about the gun.
With a lot of effort you can shoot some reasonable groups. The pellets need a lot of speed (over 300 m/s)

Zbroia Sapsan 550/300 .22
I got the chance to buy a second hand Zbroia Sapsan from this geezer on the Range. The Sapsan was on my 'i want one'- list for some time. I have always been a fan of the looks of the Sapsan. Plain, nothing fancy like most of the guns coming from the Eastern Front. This gun turned out to be a disappointment but i had it, gave it some thousand shots.
I got to love this gun for its balance, for its feel and for those featurres wich make a gun great. The leather cheekpiece on the breech and the great magazines made me smile. But when i took the gun for a chronytest the results pissed me off. The regulator didn`t work at all.In 15 shots from 272 ms to 248 m/s. I immediately knew why the grouping was so bad. And the gun lost all its air in some 16 hours.
I took the gun apart to see if there was anything to do about all that shit. The regulator lost its setting. I managed to get it working again. I took the gun to the age just to find out that the grouping still was not good. It was pretty underpowered too. The gun kept leaking so i mailed the Dutch importer Joost van Gervn. He told me of the problems with Sapsan`s leaking. I knew the valve was the problem and Joost told me why. It seems the valve has some space and because of that it just won`t shut the way it should. I decided i didn`t want to buy a leaking of wich spare parts are as scarse as hens teeth. I bought it back. Got my money in return.
The Sapsan is truly a well built gun but since Putin invaded the Ukraine spare parrts are very hard to get.
